Junior associate Freya Engelund has gained significant experience in family and inheritance law at an early stage, with a particular interest in divorce and division of assets. Freya handles cases independently and provides legal advice, with extensive experience in international child abduction cases, divorces, and drafting wills and lasting powers of attorney. She also represents clients before the municipality, the Agency of Family Law, and the courts. Additionally, she has solid experience in drafting division agreements and prenuptial agreements.

Freya has a keen interest in human issues, particularly cross-border family cases and paternity matters.

Experience 

Freya graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Copenhagen in May 2023, completing her thesis on Denmark’s Protection of “the Best Interests of the Child” in Foreign Commercial Surrogacy Agreements within the subject of Specialized Family Law.

She has been employed at BFA LAW since May 2021, initially as a legal assistant and, since December 2024, as a junior associate.
